Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone get certified?
Unfortunately, no. Erotica is exclusively stripper-owned and operated, and our goal is for all our instructors to be experienced current or former strippers and/or sex workers.
We love our pole community and our non-SWer friends. We love all that they contribute. However, strippers are still often overlooked, devalued and viewed as "not as good" as our pole hobbyist counterparts when our technique isn't flawless or our toes aren't pointed or we don't climb the pole in the same uniform way. Additionally, there are no large-scale stripper style certification programs. At this time it is extremely important to us that Erotica remain uniquely stripper-taught.
How do I get certified?
We are always interested in training new people to teach Erotica! If you meet the requirements to become certified and have a passion for teaching the Erotica methodology, fill out our interest form below and someone will respond soon!
How much experience do I need to qualify to be certified?
As we mentioned, we require potential instructors to not only be current or former strippers or sex workers but to be experienced. This is due in part to, just as with any job, there is a learning curve, and we feel that the Erotica methodology is best taught by individuals who have immersed themselves within the sex work environment for a reasonable period of time. At this time, we currently require potential instructors to have a minimum of two years experience.
How old do I have to be to get certified?
Due to the years of experience required as well as accounting for a reasonable level of maturity and responsibility required of most teachers, we currently require instructors to be at least 21 years of age when they begin Erotica training.
Is the training taught in-person or virtually?
Currently all our trainings occur virtually.
Where can I teach Erotica once I'm certified?
Once you're certified, you are free to teach Erotica wherever you want! We only ask that the structure and methodology remain uniform so be sure to account for this. Specifically, ensure that the studio you may be considering teaching at can accomodate the required structure. For example, some studios may not be set up to offer an eight-week series. Other studios may not allow pasties or thongs so be sure to do a little research before committing.
