Meet Phoenix
Phoenix James is a captivating performer who has won the hearts of audiences (and emptied wallets) around the nation at various venues and clubs.
She has been dancing for over two decades and is formally trained in a variety of dance styles (see full breakdown in the Booking Info tab). She has performed and competed onstage in night clubs and other venues throughout the United States. She earned her pole instructor certification in 2018 and became Liquid Motion 1.0 certified in 2020. In 2020, she was invited to join the teaching staff at Doll House Pole Fitness, and she was an instructor there from February 2020 to March 2022. She continued to be sought after by various studios in the Northern Virginia area, and in August 2020 she was invited to join the teaching staff at Shakti Rising. She remains a visiting instructor at D.C. studios while she travels and guest instructs at other studios around the country.
Phoenix started working as a stripper in Washington, D.C. clubs in the summer of 2018. She continued performing at private parties throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and returned to the club in May 2021 and has since performed in West Virginia, D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Boston.
Though dance is a huge part of her life, it's not everything. Phoenix currently holds four degrees and is busy earning two more. She holds two Associates degrees (Criminal Justice and Liberal Arts), a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology with a Concentration in Law and a Minor in Forensic Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She graduated Cum Laude with her two Associates degrees and her first Bachelors degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude with her nursing degree. She is currently halfway through earning her Master of Science in Nursing towards her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and is simultaneously working towards her Doctorate of Nursing Practice. She previously worked as a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Instructor for The George Washington University School of Nursing while working as a staff nurse in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Northern Virginia. In the last few years, Phoenix worked as a travel nurse, specializing in NICU and PICU, and she currently works as a pediatric CTICU nurse in Los Angeles.
As if working multiple jobs isn't enough, Phoenix is also a single mom to an incredible teenager who identifies as nonbinary and bisexual. Phoenix identifies as bisexual herself, and is therefore very active within the LGBTQ+ community. She has served as a member of her home hospital's Pride Committee, and most recently curated the Rainbow Rave Summer Showcase for Pride month in DC as a partnership with her other venture Aerial Alliance.

Teaching Style & Method
Phoenix James has a unique teaching style that while based on her technical dance roots has shifted and evolved throughout her work as a stripper. Phoenix believes that every student’s movement has value and significance and that no two artists are alike. Additionally, she firmly believes that movement and tricks will never appear the same on different artists, and she focuses on encouraging her students to “own” their dance and explore their own self-expression and style. She seeks to help students achieve their goals through encouragement, empowerment, embracing their sexual energy and harnessing their individual power. In addition to helping her students succeed in crushing their physical goals, she has also aided in helping them build confidence, strength, self-esteem and fierce independence.
